Like Tim Priestly (April 9), I, too, am filled with dismay and, I might add, anger at the prospect of sending our soldiers back to the war zone without even a year’s rest.

I have a solution. I think that all those who support this fiasco of a war, and who are eligible, should enlist in the military and volunteer for Iraq. This would be a great way to show their “Support of the Troops” by relieving some of our soldiers of the egregious burden of being deployed two, three or more times without a decent interval at home.

Maybe the Bush twins could set an example and volunteer to get the process going.

P.S. My son served for a year in Iraq.
