Lewiston Middle School had a button design contest for the school’s Health Advisory Board. The contest started on 11-27-06 and ended on 12-5-06. The winner received $50. When students heard that the Student Advisory Board was going to give $50 for the grand prize winner and have his/her design on a button, about 60 to 70 kids entered for the chance to win. The winner was Makenzie Sullivan, a student in 7th Grade on Team 71.
During the week of March 19, the Lewiston Middle School school – based health center, sold buttons for fifty cents each. The money raised will be given to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, our local animal shelter. Lewiston Middle School and High School sold the buttons to promote the school-based health center and make the students aware of the services they offer.
