FARMINGTON – The Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community will offer a new leadership training, “Finding Your Voice, Using Your Power,” designed to help participants identify issues that are important to them and learn effective techniques for sharing their stories and advocating for change.
The training will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 25, at the Farmington Center for Women, Work and Community, 108 Perham St.
It is recommended for individuals who would like to join Women, Work and Community on Tuesday, May 8, for a Day at the State House.
The event will bring together Women, Work and Community participants from all over the state for an opportunity to hear what advocates and legislators are working on to improve women’s economic security and strengthen the Maine economy.
Participants will also have the opportunity to observe the House of Representatives and Senate in action, learn about advocacy resources and meet with legislators to discuss issues of importance.
Both leadership events are free and open to the public. Anyone interested in attending should contact Janet Smith at the Farmington center, 778-2757 or [email protected].
