Daniel Rand, a freshman music performance major at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, was chosen the recipient of the BGSU Music Talent Award for the 2007-2008 academic year.

The award is a $2,000 scholarship given annually to a talented student musician by the faculty of the BGSU College of Musical Arts. Rand, a cellist in the BGSU Philharmonic, is a 2006 graduate of Lewiston High School and is the son of Phyllis and Robert Rand of Lewiston.
