If I were to rate a list of President Bush’s accomplishments, with a score of 1 being poor, 10 being excellent, his prescription drug policy would rate 1; Social Security would rate 1; the New Orleans flooding scores 0; his lies about weapons of mass destruction, 0; and making a fool of himself around the world, 10.

Muslim extremists being responsible for the attacks against U.S. citizens did not give Bush the right to get this country involved in Iraq. American citizens should come first. A good percentage of voters believe U.S. troops should come home. Bush still doesn’t get it.

Then there is Sen. John McCain, surrounded by 200 troops, helicopters overhead, bulletproof vest, with the audacity to say on national television things are really getting better in Iraq. You can tell he is running for president.

Back to Bush, I see him as a failure. And his foreign policies have been failures, especially in Iraq.

I can hear the typical Republican rebuttal – since I don’t support Bush, I don’t support the troops. Although I did not serve in Vietnam, I did serve three years during the Vietnam War era. I have supported, and always will support, this country’s troops. But President Bush seems to have forgotten the lesson of Vietnam.

I am registered as an independent, and glad of it, but I don’t see how Democrats can be blamed for the most incompetent president this country has ever had.
