LIVERMORE FALLS – Police are investigating the assault on a man near the intersection of Knapp Street and Reynolds Avenue that sent the Livermore Falls resident to the hospital.
The victim, in his early 20s, was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington where he received 10 stitches, police Lt. Thomas Gould said Thursday.
The man had walked up to Knapp Street and had turned onto Reynolds Avenue when he was accosted about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday by a woman and a man, also in their 20s, Gould said.
“They pretty much grabbed him by the head and kneed him in the face,” Gould said. “We have two suspects. We don’t know what spurred the assault and we are investigating it.”
Charges of aggravated assault are pending, he said.
