MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) – The Newick’s seafood restaurants in Merrimack and South Portland, Maine, will close next month. Newick’s Hospitality Group will keep open its main location in Dover, but the other two locations will close May 21.
The company said the two sites haven’t been profitable for years and it doesn’t make sense to keep them open. Higher prices for lobster and changing preferences for fish also have contributed to tough times for seafood restaurants.
