Dear Sun Spots and readers: In an effort to complete the museum display at the Franco-American Heritage Center, we are looking for mannequins of any size or body forms used for sewing.

We have clothing that we cannot put out for people to see until we have the proper means of displaying them. We like to periodically change the displays and are always happy to receive items from people who would like their family names, or memorabilia displayed at the center.

If your family was ever connected with the former St. Mary’s parish, you might want to consider displaying their items at the center.

Anyone having antique clothing, furniture, kitchen items, articles from the early 1900s and would like a good home for them, please contact Rita Dube at 783-1585. – Rita Dube, executive director, Franco-American Heritage Center, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: What in the world happened to Mark LaFlamme? I thought that he was a talented writer, one who could take about any subject and write to make it interesting. Where is he, where is he???

And secondly, what happened to Marmaduke who was another of my favorites. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: Sun Spots checked in with Executive Editor Rex Rhoades who notes that in order to meet the needs of readers and employees, the Sun Journal made some staffing changes and budget cuts late last year. Because of those cuts, Mark LaFlamme decided he no longer had sufficient time to write his column, although he remains a reporter for the paper.

Marmaduke was one of a variety of small cuts made to reduce costs.

You might be happy to note, that after a lot of discussion, the Sun Journal expects to resume publication of the Mark Trail column beginning May 13.
