Bridge to Terabithia was an inspiring film about two young seventh grade outcasts who become best friends. Most of us have read the book by Katherine Paterson but the movie pumps even more emotions through your blood stream than Katherine’s writing. As young children we all imagined things or came up with stories trying to surprise friends or family, but the imaginations of these kids were out of control. Leslie Burke, the child of two writers, and Jesse Aarons, an artist, creates a magical land filled with trolls and magical bees.

As drama in school surrounds them, and Jessie’s crush on the music teacher grows, the two young teenagers become extremely close in a friendship that seems like it will last forever, but unfortunately, everything must come to an end, and Leslie dies. The ending is incredibly unbelievable if you didn’t read the book.

Jessie and Leslie both grow from defenseless to strong as their friendship grows. There is no match between Jessie’s emotionally neglectful dad and Leslie’s two awesome writing parents. Jessie’s dad’s abandoning makes it hard for Jessie to make friends at school. Jessie looks forward to arriving back home.

The two kids create a magical place, called Terabithia. Terabithia is home to huge trolls and dark spirits, looking to become Terabithia’s royalty. The two kids imagine the battles between them and Terabithia’s citizens so well that they practically become real.

When Jessie found out about Leslie dying, he couldn’t believe it, but as things went from blurry to clear, Jessie started to realize the truths and Leslie was gone. He continued to visit Terabithia, but it didn’t feel real enough without her. After days of grief, he began to build a bridge in Leslie’s honor, the Bridge to Terabithia.
