JAY – Police have turned the results of their investigation of a Jay High School boy accused of making a threat to harm other students over to state prosecutors to determine if criminal charges should be filed.
A student reported overhearing the threat to school officials Monday.
After interviews, it was determined the threat occurred prior to April vacation, school Superintendent Robert Wall said Tuesday.
Police conducted an in-depth investigation on the matter, police Chief Larry White Sr. said, and have sent the case to the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office for review, and they will make the decision if the student will be charged.
The student was suspended from school while school officials evaluate future actions pertaining to the incident.
Wall said there was no indication the threat was to be carried out.
