WOODSTOCK – After purchasing a 2007 Sterling L10 8500 plow truck, selectmen and highway workers are searching for body, plow and accessories to outfit the truck.

At Tuesday’s meeting, selectmen spoke of a recent trip to Berwick where they viewed the needed equipment at the Tenco Equipment Co.

Selectman Rick Young said they were impressed with a side dump body with built-in sander but still plan to comparison shop by making a trip to H.P. Fairfield Equipment in Skowhegan to view similar equipment.

That particular body type would eliminate lost time while having to put a sander in a standard truck body and then remove it when needed to haul gravel or patching material.

“You are looking at two or more hours moving a sander so you can do standard road work and then another two or more putting the sander back in place,” Selectman Ronald Deegan said.

The truck was purchased for $66,800 from McDivit Motors of Lancaster, N.H. The equipment to put the truck into service is expected to cost $40,000 to $50,000.
