PORTLAND – The Portland Sea Dogs were unable to hang on for the sweep Thursday night, falling to the Bowie Baysox 7-3.

Matt Goodson (1-1) suffered the loss for Portland after allowing five runs (three earned) in five innings, while fanning a career high ten batters. Beau Hale (3-2) walked away with the win for Bowie, giving up three runs off four hits in five innings pitched.

The Sea Dogs started strong, scoring the first three runs of the game, but the Baysox came back with six runs in the middle innings to take the final lead. Bowie’s big hit came in the fifth inning with a two-out, bases loaded single by Luis Hernandez, which along with an error by Cory Keylor, scored a total of four runs.

Jeff Corsaletti, for the Sea Dogs, went 3-for-5 at the plate with an RBI. Jacoby Ellsbury was 2-for-4, scored twice, and stole his eighth base of the season.
