MEXICO – Four young people, including two juveniles, were arrested April 17 and April 18 on charges stemming from a burglary spree that took place earlier in that month.
Police Sgt. Roy Hodson said Joshua Johnston, 18, of Weld Street, Dixfield, and Anthony Niblick, 19, of Peru, were arrested on two counts of felony burglary. Johnston was also charged with possession of stolen property and aggravated criminal mischief.
Also arrested were two 17-year-olds who were released to the custody of their parents.
Johnston and Niblick were taken to Oxford County jail where they eventually were released. They are scheduled to appear in Paris Superior Court on June 21.
The charges stem from burglaries at two Coburn Avenue residences on April 1 and 2. Among the items taken were alcoholic beverages, nearly 60 DVDs, an Xbox 360, a Nintendo game cube, almost $100 in cash, and a pellet gun.
Although household items were strewn around the homes, no damage was reported.
