Hiring another deputy sheriff in Androscoggin County doesn’t mean anyone would be closer to the action.

Backup could still be 30 minutes away.

Attention must be paid to the information given. I believe there are available units that are not used accordingly. There are ranked people who desire day shifts, by the sounds of it. The county has a problem with buddies and cushy gigs. Commissioners pay the bills and know the staffing.

I appreciate them being iron-nosed to keep taxes down.

I do not appreciate the Sun Journal making this a one-sided affair. If the newspaper is out to make a difference, then help. It seems the Sun Journal throws fuel on the fire but does not expose oversights or indiscretions that appear on both sides that could repair the issues at hand.

It is always easier to accuse than understand.

The Sun Journal did not jump on the fact that another person of interest, Lewiston City Council President Renee Bernier, voted against a budget committee for Lewiston, but sits on one for Androscoggin County.

I believe that’s highly hypocritical. Schools are broke, roads are junk, trash is piling and wages are going up. There is no happy medium. My budget is tight and I cannot ask for more.

I must make it work, and it is about time the government does.
