Class luncheon

Society speaker

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in the Charter Meeting Room. The program will feature artifacts and a short lecture regarding the Paleo-Indians of Maine. The meeting was canceled last month due to the snowstorm. Light refreshments will be served and the public is invited.

To honor youths

RUMFORD – The Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 has invited all youths who have won first-, second- or third-place in activities throughout the year to a Youth Night on Thursday, May 10, at the Elks Lodge, 60 River St.

Members will honor scholarship winners, hoop shoot and soccer shoot-out winners, punt pass and kick winners, Americanism essay winners, drug awareness poster, coloring and essay winners, Eagle Scout recipients and the top 10 from Mountain Valley High School and Dirigo High School. Parents are also invited.

A spaghetti supper will be served in the dining area at 6 p.m. Contact Chairwomen Sandee Welch at 364-2548 or Debi Briggs at 364-2479 if planning to attend.

Bowling day

RUMFORD – “Princess Abbie’s Day” will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Oxford Lanes. Three strings plus shoe rental will be $8. All proceeds will benefit Abbie Blauvelt. Benefit supper

RUMFORD – A spaghetti supper will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at St. Athanasius and St. John Church. Cost will be adults $5, children $3. Proceeds will help Troop 580 with summer camp and Pack 580 with day camp.
