SPRINGFIELD (AP) – A volunteer firefighter was killed Monday when the fire truck he was driving overturned in Penobscot County.

State police say the Springfield Fire Department tanker truck overturned after rounding a curve on Route 169 at about 11:45 a.m. while en route to a fire call in the nearby town of Prentice.

The victim, who died at the scene, was identified as Peter Beebe-Lawson, 50, of Springfield.
