SEATTLE – Horacio Ramirez and Seattle’s bullpen put the Yankees right back into their offensive funk.

Ramirez pitched effectively into the seventh inning and four relievers stymied New York to preserve the Mariners’ 2-1 victory Sunday.

Seattle pieced together just enough offense to take two of three in the series, never scoring more than three runs in any game. Raul Ibanez had an RBI single in the third and Jose Lopez’s sacrifice fly an inning later provided all the offense Ramirez needed.

Rangers 7, Angels 6

ARLINGTON, Texas – Nelson Cruz hit a solo homer with one out in the ninth inning to give the Texas Rangers a 7-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.

Cruz hit his first home run of the season into the Texas bullpen off Scot Shields (0-2) to help the Rangers beat Los Angeles for the first time this year after five straight losses.

Devil Rays 2, Blue Jays 1

TORONTO – Shaun Marcum pitched six hitless innings and came out of the game. Then Tampa Bay’s offense started up.

Carlos Pena got the Devil Rays’ first hit with a tiebreaking home run off Jason Frasor in the seventh inning, and Tampa Bay beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1 Sunday to stop a season-high, six-game losing streak.

Athletics 10, Indians 7

OAKLAND, Calif. – Jack Cust’s fifth homer in four games capped a five-run ninth inning that helped the Oakland Athletics rally for a 10-7 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Sunday.

Joe Borowski retired the first two batters of the ninth inning and got an 0-2 count on Eric Chavez with the Indians leading 7-5. But Chavez singled and Milton Bradley tied the score with his second homer this season, a drive to right.

Royals 11, White Sox 1

CHICAGO – David DeJesus tied a career high with four hits, Jorge De La Rosa pitched seven sharp innings and the Kansas City Royals beat the White Sox 11-1 on Sunday for a rare win in Chicago.

Mark Teahen’s three-run homer in the fifth off Javier Vazquez broke a 1-all tie, and the Royals matched their season high for runs and hits (15) set April 20 against Minnesota.

Pirates 13, Braves 2

PITTSBURGH – Ian Snell took advantage of some unaccustomed offensive support to limit Atlanta to two runs over seven innings, and Freddy Sanchez drove in three runs to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 13-2 victory Sunday that stopped the Braves’ five-game winning streak.

Padres 3, Cardinals 0

SAN DIEGO – Justin Germano allowed three hits in seven innings for his first major league win in three years, leading the San Diego Padres over the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0 Sunday.

Giants 15, Rockies 2

DENVER – San Francisco rookie Fred Lewis hit for the cycle Sunday, powering the Giants past the Colorado Rockies 15-2.

Four days after being called up from Triple-A Fresno, Lewis became the 22nd player in franchise history to hit for the cycle. He went 5-for-6 and drove in four runs.

, three of them on his first major league home run.
