LISBON – Students from Lisbon High School Art Club participated in a community service project for the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital of Maine Medical Center on April 3. Art Club President Gwynne Hunter is also a graduating Senior Girl Scout with Troop 514 of Lisbon.

Hunter is working on her Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. A Gold Award involves at least 65 hours of leadership in the development and implementation of a community service project that has personal significance to the Girl Scout.

Lisbon High School Art Club students assembled 85 musical instrument kits for the Girl Scouts to use at the hospital. The kits included materials to make one of several things, including musical mobiles for IV poles, tambourines and maracas.

Art Club members assisting with the project included Alex Bernier-Siegler, Travis Boucher, Brittany Clark, Colton Jackson, Chris Jillette, Rob Lane, Jacob Menard, Jim Norton, Carolyn Veilleux, Stephanie Ward, Sarah Wellington and Janelle Withers. Elaine Cyr, Lisbon High School Art Club adviser, participated as well.
