Culinary students job-shadow chef

FARMINGTON – Jerrica Richards and Jenna Ranger, enrolled in the culinary arts program at Foster Technical Center, recently job-shadowed at the Carriage House Café in Livermore.

Chef Michael Weaver was catering an event for the Knights of Columbus, which was an opportunity to teach the girls some creative culinary arts skills.

Richards and Ranger learned to make watermelon fruit baskets, swans from cantaloupe and tomato roses. They were also taught to make an array of salads and a pork loin rolled with spinach, mushrooms and roasted garlic, with a mushroom sauce made from the drippings.
