RUMFORD – Richard M. “Dick” Hall, 75, of Main Street, Dixfield, died late Tuesday, May 15, at Rumford Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Phillips, a son of Clifton and Lucille (Sedgeley) Hall and was a graduate of Wilton Academy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. On Sept. 3, 1955, he married Barbara Jerry. She died Nov. 28, 1999.
He was employed as the meat manager for more than 35 years at Sampson’s Supermarket, later known as Shop N Save in Rumford. He was a member of King Hiram Masonic Lodge of Dixfield and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, filling his bird feeders and planting his garden. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by a son, Robert Hall, and his wife, Jody, of Wilton; a daughter, Rhonda Volkernick, and her husband, Jim, of New Gloucester; a brother, Albert, and his wife, Marilyn, of Oakland; his companion, Julie Chiasson of Dixfield; five grandchildren, Lance, Brittany, and Alex Weymouth, Cote Hall and Lauryn Volkernick; two great-grandchildren, Kylee and Ivree; and several nieces and nephews.
