RUMFORD – Thelma M. McKenna, 78, died Sunday, May 6, at her residence on Waldo Street, Rumford.

She was born in Rumford, on June 30, 1928, a daughter of James and Mary (Luddington) Taylor and she had attended local schools.

She was a homemaker and was an accomplished artist. Her great love was to go to lawn sales with her family and friends. She also loved to watch old movies. She was a member of the Mexico First Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking.

She was married to the late Harrison J. McKenna, who died in Rumford on July 4, 1990.

Survivors include sons, David McKenna of Rumford, Mark McKenna, and wife, Valerie Allen, of Mexico and Harry McKenna of Mexico; daughters, Sue Daigle, and husband, Bob, of Mexico, Christine Farrar, and husband, Richard, of Rumford and Gemma Bell, and husband, David, of Raleigh, N.C.; sister, Joyce McKenna, and husband, Eddie, of Rumford; brother, James Taylor, and wife, Rose, of Mexico; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and former son-in-law, Joseph Leblanc, and his wife, Donna, of Peru.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Debbie Leblanc; two brothers, George and Wally Taylor; and granddaughter, Marcie Farrar.

A thank-you to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and Tammy Bean, also to doctors, Erickson, Kreckel, Parker, Wolf and Weis, and to friends, Dave, Jodi, Pam, Judy and to David’s AA friends. Also a special thank-you to Cheryl Morton for her love and help throughout the years and also to the Rumford Hospital and Swift River Health Care.
