Dear Sun Spots: You have been so helpful in the past. We hope there is someone who can help us with our problem.

Our church needs new tables for our dining room. The company we have ordered from in the past is no longer in business. We need sturdy tables, measuring 36 by 96 inches and with legs that fold down so we can store the tables. If there is a company in the state that sells tables this size, or an organization that has ordered tables this size and would be willing to let us know of their name and location, it would be greatly appreciated. We would truly appreciate your assistance. You may phone me at 353-8019. Thank you. – Carol Day, Women’s Group President, Lisbon Falls.

Dear Sun Spots: Mallory Morneau has been invited to take part in the People to People World Leaders program next April in Washington, D.C.

Mallory is asking for help in raising money for tuition. She will be visiting places such as the U.S. Supreme Court, Arlington Cemetery, Smithsonian, International Spy Museum, Jamestown, Library of Congress, Eisenhower Farm and more.

A bottle drive will be ongoing at Florian’s Market, 311 Main St., Auburn – let them know it should go to Mallory Morneau/People to People World Leaders as they have an account set up for her.

The best part of the program is it will count as a U.S. history credit and 10 hours of mandatory community service in order to graduate from high school. Your help and support are appreciated!

Please contact us at 62 Western Promenade, Auburn, ME 04210 or by phone at 783-9746. – D.M., Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: Could you tell me how Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka pronounces his full name? Is the pronunciation “Dice K” a nickname? Thank you for a fun and informative column! – Adam’s Mom in Otisfield.

Answer:
In checking with both the sports department and a co-worker who’s familiar with the Japanese language, Dice-K is the correct pronunciation of this pitcher’s first name and Maht-suh-Za-ka will work for the surname.

Yourself and your son might also be interested in noting that Daisuke and his wife Tomoyo, have one daughter. Tomoyo is a former network television broadcaster in Japan. Daisuke was born Sept. 13, 1980, and graduated from Yokohama High School in 1998. Individuals born in Japan’s 1980 fiscal year (April 2, 1980 to April 1, 1981) are often referred to being from the “Matsuzaka generation.”

Dear Sun Spots: Is there anyone in the River Valley or surrounding area who repairs digital video cameras? The audio works fine, but the video is blank. It’s my granddaughter’s camera, and I am trying to help her get it repaired. – Carol Littlehale, Rumford.
