MECHANIC FALLS – There will be two new faces on the Town Council following Saturday elections.
Rielly Bryant and Robert Small both received 47 votes and will take their seats on the council.
Others receiving votes were Nancy Richard with 38; Richard Wing with 32; Philip Potter, who earned 24 votes; and Paul Lavoie with 12 votes.
Elected to the Sanitary District Board of Trustees were Michael Baird with 74 votes and Arthur Montana with 68. Lawrence Newth received 37 of the total votes.
The contest for one seat on the School Committee remains unresolved. David Griffiths was re-elected to the committee with 105 votes.
But the only candidates for the remaining open seat on the committee were two write-in candidates, Patricia Milton and Philip Potter, who tied at three votes each.
Deputy Town Clerk Lisa Palmer said as of Saturday it was not clear how the town would resolve the tie.
A total of 113 residents voted in the annual elections.
