Lewiston – Laurea E. Ouellette, 97, formerly of 550 College St., died Saturday, May 19, at Marshwood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center where she resided for the past year.
Born in Epping, N.H., Jan. 7, 1910, she was the daughter of Treffle Hermina Dupont Marcoux.
She married Adrien O. Ouellette on June 5, 1933, and was the beloved mother of three children. Along with her husband they owned and operated Adrian’s Cash Market on Sabattus Street.
She will also be remembered by patrons of Bernard’s School of Hair Fashion, and B. Peck Co.
Her elegant demeanor has been admired by many over decades.
She is survived by her children, Donald Ouellette and wife, Julie, of Moosehead Lake, Phyllis Anctil and husband, Larry, of Lewiston, Elaine Mills and husband, Darrell, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and her sister, Alice Davala of Derry, N.H.
She was a devoted grandmother to Diane Anctil Spink, Denise Anctil McLoughlin, Daniel Anctil, Robert Ouellette, Karen Ouellette Coughlin and Kyle Mills.
Her great-grandchildren include Jocelyn, Jason and Shawn Ouellette, Michael and Brandon Anctil and Amanda Spink.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Adrien, in 1994; three sisters, Lillian Dupont, Mary Ouellette and Annette Albert; and two brothers, Arthur Marcoux and George Marcoux.
