LIVERMORE FALLS – Burglaries of unlocked motor vehicles, homes and sheds are starting to pick up, and the police chief recommends locking doors and reporting any suspicious activity to police.

On Tuesday, a Knapp Street resident reported a Mongoose bike stolen from a shed. On Monday, a Church Street man going to work discovered his vehicle had been entered during the evening and items rifled through, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

A week or so ago in the same neighborhood, an unlocked house was entered and a purse stolen. It was found with its contents emptied onto the ground near a wood pile, he said.
