LEWISTON – Maine Event Cheer and Dance Center recently sent six teams to this year’s Final Destination “World’s Best” All-Star Cheer Competition in Baltimore.

Maine Events Senior Level 5 Co-ed Cheer Team took first place and the title of “World’s Best” Small Senior Co-ed Level 5 Champion.

“This is what it’s all about, 12 months of practice, competitions in multiple states and qualifying to attend this competition,” said Mike Klemanski, director, Maine Event. “Just qualifying and attending this competition is a dream come true and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many cheerleaders.”

Performing and competing against the best teams in the country and winning is a great accomplishment for Maine, he said.

Maine Event qualified seven teams to attend the Worlds competition. In addition to the Senior Co-ed Level 5 Team, currently Maine’s only Level 5 All-Star Cheer teams, the Senior All-Girl Level 5 Team finished fourth, the Junior Level 3 and Junior Level 4 teams finished sixth, the Youth Team finished fourth, and the Mini Team finished second.
