GRAY – Fiddlehead Center for the Arts, now located in the Gray Village, will host its 4th annual International Arts and Cultural Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2. It will be held rain or shine.
Having recently moved, this year’s fundraiser will be smaller, but festival-goers can expect to still experience the colors, sounds and aromas of world cultures, according to organizers.
“The main features this year will be two top music performers, and it will showcase our new facility with the same wonderful hands-on activities for all ages in the arts and sciences,” said Jacinda Cotton-Castro, executive director of the Gray Village location.
One of the main performers is Inanna, Sisters in Rhythm, a Maine-based percussion and vocal ensemble that explores the heritage and rhythms of West Africa through original arrangements and compositions invoking ancient traditions of the drum.
“And, of course, we can’t forget our very own Jim Gallant who teaches guitar at Fiddlehead,” added Cotton-Castro.
All events and activities will be under a tent or inside Fiddlehead’s new facility at 25 Shaker Road on Route 26. Discounted advance tickets are now on sale for $7 for adults, $5 for students. Children 12 and under admitted free. The day of the festival, tickets for adults will be $10.
