FRYEBURG – Greg Labonte had four hits, including a 2-run single in the first inning as St. Dom’s crushed Fryeburg 13-1 in WMC baseball action.
Jake Rutt blasted a 3-run home run and added and RBI single, while earning his third victory for the Saints (12-1). Andy Allen also had a pair of hits, including a triple.
Aaron Kaprak, Dan Broyer and Justin Mead all had doubles for the Raiders (7-6).
Softball
Freyburg 3, St. Dom’s 0
FRYEBURG – Jacqui Bell smacked a three-run triple in the bottom of the sixth to break a scoreless tie as Freyburg beat St. Dom’s 3-0.
Hanna Hill outdueld St. Doms’ Jen Cullen on the mound to earn the victory. Hill surrendered only a first inning single to Heidi Nadeau while fanning 11 hitters and walking only one.
Dani Hill collected a pair of hits for the Raiders (14-1).
Lacrosse
Gardiner 7, Oak Hill 6
WALES – Cody Dean fired a shot on a pass from Bass Chadwick by goalie Caleb Fournier with just over four minutes remaining to lift Gardiner to a 7-6 win over Oak Hill.
Dean’s lone score of the game broke a 6-6 tie going into the final quarter. Nate Prince led the Tigers (9-2) with three goals and an assist. Tyler Pomerleau and Nick Brown each had a pair of goals for the Raiders (10-2). Caleb Fournier turned away seven shots for Oak Hill.
Messalonskee 6, EL 3
AUBURN – Justin Lawler found the back of the net twice in the second quarter to lead Messalonskee past Edward Little 6-3 on Saturday.
Messalonskee (7-5) scored all six goals in the first half. Matt DelGiudice had a goal and three assists for the Eagles. Sam Armstrong turned in a solid game on defense for the Red Eddies with four takeaways.
Zach Ward netted a pair of goals for Edward Little (5-7).
Waynflete 11, St. Dom’s 3
PORTLAND – Waynflete jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead en route to an 11-3 win over St. Dom’s.
David Cutler scored four goals, while Jake Coppola chipped in with a pair for the Flyers (4-6). Trevar Haefele turned away seven for St. Dom’s.
Sheldon Roy had a pair of goals for the Saints (3-7).
