LEWISTON – Ida C. Servidio passed away on May 25, surrounded by her loving family at Marshwood Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident for about five years.

She was born on Oct. 27, 1917, in Hingham, Mass., a daughter of the late Frank and Nancy (Gemma) Calluzzo. She was the third of eight children. She was a graduate of Hingham High School. She was a homemaker most of her life and later worked at Atlantic Research in Hanover, Mass., as a quality control inspector and retired from Talbots in Hingham, Mass., after 20 years of service.

She was very active throughout her children’s school years, always serving as a room mom or helping the nuns who taught at St. Paul’s School in Hingham. She moved to Lewiston in 2001, to live with her son.

A woman of great faith, she was a lay member of the Order of Franciscans, belonging to the order at St. Mary’s Parish in Hanover and at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. She also served as a eucharistic minister at St. Mary’s.

She is survived by her son, Richard Servidio, and his wife, Anne, of Lewiston; her daughter, Gayle O’Neil, and her husband, Charles, of Hanover; grandchildren, Charles and Kristen O’Neil III of Norwell, Richard and Laurie Servidio of Lewiston, Jennifer O’Neil of Hingham, and Peter and Cheyenne Servidio of Lewiston; six great-grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Alexis, Ridge and Olivia Servidio and Katie, Shannon and Charlie IV O’Neil; her sisters, Florence Protulis and Lauretta Peters, both of Cohasset; her brother, Anthony Galluzzo of New London, N.H.; sister-in-law, Dena Servidio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters and their spouses, Carmelina and Frank Tarzia, Virginia and Theodore Machelski, Violet and Joseph Ricca; her brother, Herman; her sisters-in-law, Claudia Galluzzo and Sarah Servidio; her brothers-in-law, William Protulis, Louis Peters, Joseph Servidio and Angelo Servidio; and three infant grandchildren, Kerry, Michael and Cheryl Servidio.
