AUBURN – A motorcyclist was injured Monday evening after she veered into oncoming traffic on Youngs Corner Road.

Police said Susan Morin, 44, of Greene had just made the sharp curve near 170 Youngs Corner Road heading toward Hotel Road at about 5:40 p.m.

“She veered across the center lane and continued in that direction,” said police Officer Matt Dailey.

Marguerite Pelletier of Lewiston was driving her car along Youngs Corner Road toward the curve. Pelletier veered to the right in an attempt to avoid the motorcycle.

“But it just couldn’t be avoided,” Dailey said.

Morin slammed into the passenger side of Pelletier’s 2006 Chrysler four-door. She was wearing a helmet, however, and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with non-life-threatening injuries, Dailey said.

Pelletier was treated and released from St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
