The scoop: Selectman Cliff McNeil said he will refuse to sign warrants until some issues are cleared up. McNeil said he would like to see the position of road commissioner changed from elected to appointed, giving selectmen more control over road spending.

McNeil took the initiative to hire someone other than the regular contractor to take care of the roads during the March storm. That regular contractor was unavailable.

“I want to listen to the people who elect the road commissioner,” Selectman Glenn Hinckley said.

The question will be on the town warrant in August.
