LEWISTON – George M. Dycio has been hired as economic development specialist for the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council.

He will provide site location searches and other technical assistance to businesses seeking to expand or relocate to Lewiston-Auburn.

He most recently served as town planner for Windham from 1998 to 2006. He was responsible for reviewing site plans and subdivision plans before the Windham Planning Board, as well as ensuring projects conformed to local and state laws and responsible planning standards.

Dycio also served as planning coordinator for Lewiston’s Office of Economic and Community Development from 1988 to 1998. In addition, he served as a land-use planner and environmental consultant for the Baltimore County, Maryland Department of Environmental Protection and Resource Management’s Bureau of Water Quality.

Dycio is a member of several associations, including the American Planning Association, the Northern New England Chapter of the American Planning Association and the Maine Association of Planners.

A resident of Lewiston, Dycio is a graduate of Towson State University in Maryland, where he earned his master of arts degree in geography and environmental planning. He also earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Maine at Farmington.
