Everybody is having a difficult time dealing with the high price of gasoline and global warming.
About 20 years ago, my brother-in-law had a V8 Ford pickup truck. Gas was in short supply. He decided to use propane – a very clean-burning fuel. All he did was buy a kit to modify the carburetor, and a six-foot gas cylinder. He ran that truck on propane for a couple years. I think hydrogen would work just as well or better.
It was a simple outfit he put together. Anyone could do it. He changed back to gasoline because it was more convenient.
There is no need to buy gas when it costs so much.
The answer is that simple.
