Optimist Club President George Mathews, right, is shown presenting the Optimist Creed to guest speaker Jonathan LaBonte, Androscoggin Land Trust. LaBonte gave a presentation on the trust and how it is helping conserve more than 2,700 acres of land, including five miles along the Androscoggin River. LaBonte is a lifelong resident of New Auburn.
