GILEAD – A special town meeting has been called for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Town Hall to vote on whether to purchase a pickup truck with a plow and sander.

Administrative Assistant Beverly Corriveau said voters and selectmen at the March town meeting discussed the possibility of spending at least $30,000 for the used vehicle, but no action was taken then.

She said if voters agree to the purchase, the amount to be raised and appropriated for the truck will be added to the municipal budget approved in March. Property tax bills go out in October.
