History shows us that politicians sometimes make campaign promises a little beyond reality. Most voters recognize this. However, I think it’s also important to know what issues a candidate does not support.
In the upcoming campaign where Rep. Tom Allen is trying to unseat Sen. Susan Collins, Allen’s voting record in the U.S. House of Representatives must be analyzed.
I believe he has not supported Bath Iron Works or the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard.
I think Allen is not as far to the left as former Congressman Tom Andrews.
I think if Sen. Collins makes a good showing in Portland and Brunswick, she will carry the rest of the state.
Tom Fox, Sabattus
