EAST WILTON – Albert A. Bragg, 44, of 275 Temple St. in Wilton was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting a girl a few years ago in Avon, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Detective David St. Laurent said.

Bragg was arrested at his home within two hours of the girl reporting the incident to Mt. Blue High School-based advocate Kristen Plummer of Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services, the investigator said.

St. Laurent spoke with Wilton police Chief Dennis Brown and officer Josh King at the police department before they went to Bragg’s home to arrest him.

Bragg, who works for Verso Paper in Jay, was taken to the Franklin County Detention Center and posted $10,000 cash bail at noon Thursday. He is scheduled to appear in court July 27.

St. Laurent commended the services of the high school advocate. He said the girl is receiving help.
