LIVERMORE – Voters will elect candidates for selectmen and a SAD 36 school director Tuesday by referendum from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the polls at the town office.
And at 7 p.m. Thursday, voters will consider a $1.1 million spending package for fiscal 2008, up from $1.06 million last year, at the Community Building.
Incumbent Selectmen Tom Berry and Wayne Timberlake are each unopposed for their bids for re-election to another term.
SAD 36 Director Marie Josee Castonguay is also unopposed for a three-year seat on the school board.
The budget proposal voters will consider Thursday stays within the state’s proposed cap of $968,000 for the town to raise by taxation, selectmen’s Administrative Assistant Kurt Schaub said previously.
That amount, if the proposal is approved, is about $956,000. That includes buying a stainless steel sander and plow for the town’s 1-ton truck, Schaub said.
Townspeople will also consider amendments to several ordinances that clarify the appeal process.
They will not consider establishing a noise ordinance, which was withdrawn from the ballot to undergo more work.
