FITCHBURG, Mass. – Greely’s Becky O’Brien was the lone Maine athlete to capture an event at Saturday’s New England Interscholastic Track & Field Meet at Fitchburg State.
The junior won the shot put with a throw of 47-feet, 1-inches. She also finished second in the discus.
Edward Little’s John Alexander was third in the 100-meter dash and anchored a fifth-place finish in the 400 relay.
Other top Maine performers included Messalonskee’s Jesse Labreck, who turned in second-place efforts in both the 100 and 300 girls’ hurdles, along with a third-place finish in the triple jump.
Brunswick sophomore Kristen Slotnick was third in the 200 and second in the long jump.
