AUBURN – A Greater Androscoggin Seniors Day was held on May 18 at Lost Valley. Many senior-related businesses and nonprofit groups provided seniors with resource information on aging.

Workshops were offered throughout the day on pharmacy, adaptive equipment, accessing services from the home and home safety.

Kathy Barlow of Leeds was looking for information on adaptive equipment and home services. “My father just had a stroke and he is coming home next week. I was able to get a lot of information from Bedard Medical Equipment and Androscoggin Home Care that will make his transition back home much better,” she said.

Susan Goulet, event coordinator, said, “We wanted to offer seniors a place to get great resource information on aging and senior-related products in one stop. Many seniors complain that when they call for resource information, they get automated operators or voice mail, so they hang up. This Senior Day was their chance to access information face to face.”
