LEWISTON – A 65-year-old woman was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with minor injuries Sunday morning after a car crash at the corner of Webster Street and Reservoir Avenue
Jeannine Laplume, of 21 Dumais St. in Lisbon Falls, was traveling outbound on Webster Street at 11:15 a.m. when her vehicle and one car driven by Jennifer Lane, 25, of 1114 Lisbon St. collided, according to Lt. Tim Minkowsky.
“It appears that Lane, who was attempting a turn off of Reservoir Avenue and onto Webster Street, ran the stop sign at the end of Reservoir Avenue,” said Minkowsky.
A witness to the crash corroborated the account, Minkowsky said.
Laplume was treated and released from the hospital later in the day, according to a nurse supervisor.
According to Minkowsky, Lane was not injured.
Damages to Laplume’s 1995 Mercury were estimated at $4,000; to Lane’s 1996 Chevrolet, $3,500.
Both vehicles were towed.
