DURHAM – Two Durham men were injured Monday night when the van they were in struck a large tree off Hallowell Road.

Sgt. Brian Smith of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department said Dominic Dorazio Jr., 48, of 1405 Hallowell Road could not remember what happened when he lost control of the minivan shortly before 9 p.m.

Dorazio suffered minor injuries, but his passenger, Frank Dorazio, 43, of the same address suffered a broken leg and possibly other broken bones, Smith said. The men were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland by Freeport Rescue and Durham Fire and Rescue.

The minivan was demolished, the sergeant said.
