Rotary auction
BETHEL – The Bethel Rotary Club annual auction and yard sale will be held Saturday, June 23, at Telstar High School. The yard sale will begin at 8 a.m.; auction preview at 5:30 p.m.; and auction at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available.
There will be gift certificates, furniture, antiques and hundreds of items. Individuals wishing to donate items for the auction may call 875-2364 for pick-up.
Bridge play
NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met June 8 in the Fare Share Common, Main Street, when a 4 and 1/2 table Howell movement was played.
Finishing first in Flight A were Richard Balian and Nick Karamessinis; second, Pat Quinn and Georgette Jewell.
Finishing first in Flight B were Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens; second, Carol Curran and Mary Lou Burns.
There will be another game at 9 a.m. Friday, June 15, and all bridge players are welcome.

Church event
BUCKFIELD – Have you ever wondered what’s inside the Church on the Hill in Buckfield? Have you been there and would like to see it again?
The Buckfield Historical Society invites the public to join its members as they look through the artifacts in the Church on the Hill, High Street, at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 14.
Educators to meet
NORWAY – The Oxford County Retired Educators will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Paris Street, for the last meeting of the term. The registration time of 10:30 a.m. will be followed by a business meeting led by Rodney Abbott and a service honoring the memory of recently deceased teachers.
The church women will serve a dinner at noon before the scholarship fundraising beano program begins. The names of three senior scholarship winners will be announced.
Members will be notified by telephone chain for the dinner reservations.
Anyone who worked for the district schools in Oxford County prior to their retirement is eligible to attend by calling Ethel Lacourse at 743-8384 for information and dinner reservations before Friday.
Tag sale
NORWAY – A tag and bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Town and Country Mobile Home Village, Town and Country Drive.
Flea market
WEST PARIS – A flea market, craft and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at West Paris Grange Hall, 4 Church St., sponsored by the West Paris Grange 298. For more information or table rental, call 674-3241.
Sunday worship
PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, will hold worship at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 17.
Services will be followed by coffee, refreshments and good fellowship.
Fair needs help
OXFORD – The Oxford County Fair Agricultural Museum is looking for men and women volunteers for the fair on Sept. 12 to 15.
Time slots of three to four hours are in need of being filled. Volunteers who can do special country crafts of the past of all types are being sought, specially someone who can tat.
The “workshop” area needs folks who like to tinker and share the gift of gab with fairgoers. Greeters are also needed.
