LEWISTON – The Lewiston School Nutrition Program, in cooperation with the Lewiston Recreation Program, will offer a free summer food service program for children.

Breakfast and lunch will be served on weekdays at the following locations: Kennedy Park, Multi-Purpose Center during Summer Play Days, Potvin Park, River Valley (Tall Pines), Hillview Apartment and Camp Smiles.

Breakfast will be served between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. and lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

All meals will meet the federal government guidelines and will be served June 20 through Aug. 10 at the park sites.

All meals must be eaten at the site, as participants are not allowed to remove food from the parks or playgrounds.

On rainy days, the children will be served at the Multi-Purpose Center.

No meals will be served on July 4.

This is the 20th year for the Lewiston Summer Food Service Program.

The program continues to be a joint effort of two Lewiston departments, which expect to serve 400 children daily with the federally funded program.

Free meals are provided to attending children age 18 and under.
