AUBURN – Dillingham & Sons swept a doubleheader from Enfco and American Concrete, 9-6 and 15-9, in weekend action from the Auburn Suburban Little League Minor Division. In Game 1, Steve Sinclair and Aidan Doolan-Olveto had perfect days at the plate for Dillingham, going 4-for-4. Maegan Chartier and Donovan Covert each smacked two hits for Enfco.
Cole Butler was 5-for-5 and Jacob Gamache 4-for-5 in the nightcap for Dillingham. Tyler Couture, who pitched for the winners, still has not allowed an earned run in his first season as a flinger. American Concrete’s Matt Grenier went 3-for-4, while Nicholas Allen-Smith enjoyed a 2-for-3 afternoon. Pat’s Pizza took a 6-2 decision from Dillingham the previous night. Donnie Peterson went 2-for-2 for the Pizzamen, while Nick Whittemore was 2-for-3 and Kyle Mooney 1-for-2 in the losing cause.
South Lewiston softball
Play It Again Sports dropped Healey Association, 17-16, in a thriller in major division softball. Kayla McAtee was the winning pitcher. Emma Galipeau, LaurieAnn Murphy and Sadie Beaudin were the offensive stars for Play It Again. Kianna Melvin had a great game behind the plate for Healey. Courtney Jacques, Morgan Bowen and Brittany Bell were the heavy hitters.
