Parents and art students attended the award ceremony for the Lewiston Middle School art show sponsored by Androscoggin Bank on May 31.

Young artists in bank show

LEWISTON – Androscoggin Bank hosted an art show for Lewiston Middle School on May 31.

Cake and punch were served to students and parents, and first, second, third and honorable mention ribbons were awarded. The ribbon winners were given a gift certificate for an Androscoggin Bank savings account.

All students who participated were given certificates of recognition. The artwork was selected by Kay Allison and Kate Cargile, school art teachers. Personnel from Androscoggin Bank judged the artwork.

First prize was awarded to Veronica Beaudoin for her watercolor painting, “Lighthouse”; second prize was given to Kirstin for her scratchboard, “Border Collie”” and third was given to Holly Lavorgna for her block print, “Turquoise Bird.” Honorable mention was given to Shanitra Fulgham for her oil pastel design. Organizers hope to make it an annual event.
