NORWAY – Young sleuths will investigate good books and explore a slew of mysteries this summer in the Norway Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Program.
Children entering grades one through six may participate in a wide range of activities that explore different aspects of the Summer Reading Program theme, “Get a Clue @ Your Library,” at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 19 to Aug. 9.
Preregistration is required for all programs, as space is limited.
Parents may register their children at the program kick-off event from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, June 18, at the Guy E. Rowe Elementary School or anytime thereafter at the library.
Special guests who will lead activities in June will include Slap Happy the Clown, who will transform before children’s eyes; Paul B. Janeczko, author of “Secret Codes and Ciphers,” who will teach children how to write and decode secret messages; and home-schooling parent Mike Murphy, leading a mission to collect clues and solve a mystery in the library.
In addition, children entering grades four to six may participate in the Spy Kids Book Club at 2 p.m. Wednesdays.
Preschool Story Time will continue on Wednesday mornings for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers, and Baby Boosters on Friday mornings for children up to age 2 and their caregivers. They will follow the summer reading program theme. Preregistration is not required.
