RANGELEY – The Rangeley Lakes Region Logging Museum will hold its annual fundraising auction at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the museum building on Route 16, one mile east of Rangeley.
Auctioneer Stephen Richard will be at the gavel once again. Everyone is welcome to view the items beginning at 9 a.m.
The museum will offer gift certificates, golf passes, ski passes, restaurant and motel certificates, safety deposit box rentals and other goods from almost every business in town. Out-of-town businesses have also sent donations.
Individual donors have given furniture, dishes, paintings and other items as well as handmade crafts. Rodney Richard, the Mad Whittler, promises a chainsaw-carved bear, and his son, Rodney Richard Jr., will also donate a carving. International items from Norway and Scotland will also be offered.
Rangeley cooks, such as Carol Haley, Beverly Hill, Lynnie Raymond, Audrey Stevens and others, will prepare pies, fudge, doughnuts and other homebaked goods.
To donate, call Rodney Richard at 864-5595 for pick-up.
This is the museum’s 27th anniversary year. Knit, crochet and craft sale will open at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 21, and the Logging Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, July 27 and 28. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and by appointment by calling 864-5595.
