Society speakers

NEW VINEYARD – New Vineyard Historical Society will meet at the historical room at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20. The subject will be “Old Houses” and several speakers will present the history of the house in which they reside. The history of the grist mill will also be discussed.

Refreshments will be served and all are welcome. The historical room will be open during June, July and August from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays for those who wish to examine the artifacts and family files.

Church supper

NORTH WATERFORD – The Rev. George Frobig invites everyone to attend the first public supper of the summer season from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the North Waterford Congregational Church vestry, off Routes 35 and 37.

The supper is “all-you-can-eat” featuring baked beans, American chop suey, casseroles, salads, brown bread, rolls, beverage and strawberry shortcake. Prices are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

Frobig also reminds parishioners of the Oxford County United Parish Churches in Stoneham and North Waterford that services are being held at the Stoneham church through June. Beginning Sunday, July 1, services will be held at the North Waterford church at 10 a.m. Choir practice will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, with Bible study at 9:15 a.m. For more information, contact Frobig at 693-6461.
