BATH – Brady Blackman chucked a no-hitter Tuesday evening, facing only one batter over the minimum in New Auburn’s 4-0 Zone 3 victory over Smith-Tobey.

Blackman struck out 12. At the plate, he drew a leadoff walk in the fourth inning to trigger a rally that ended with Devin Flynn’s three-run triple,

Tyler Dorris singled twice for NAL (1-0). Kyle Bussiere cracked a double. Tyler Ross struck out nine in the complete-game loss for Smith-Tobey (0-2).

Monmouth 8, Augusta 3

READFIELD – Justin Denbow’s two-run double triggered a five-run third inning and paced Monmouth past Augusta, 8-3, in Zone II Legion baseball.

Wally Rines and Chris Ellis each added an RBI single in the third, when Monmouth (1-0) broke open a 1-1 game. Josh Jillson, Travis Harwood and Mike Eaton combined on a five-hitter for Monmouth. John Rutt ripped a double for Augusta (0-3).

Gilman Electric 4, Libby-Mitchell 0

SCARBOROUGH – Nick Douglass struck out 15 in a complete game one-hitter Tuesday, leading Gilman Electric of Mechanic Falls to a 4-0 win over Libby-Mitchell Post in the first game of the new American Legion Junior Division.

Catcher Ben Piper belted RBI doubles in the fifth and seventh innings for Gilman. Kyle Kyllonen added three singles.

Bessey Motors 8, Brunswick 0

BRUNSWICK – Ben Goodall pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out nine and walking two, to lead Bessey Motors to an 8-0 Zone III win Tuesday over newcomer Brunswick.

Goodall, Matt Verrier and Ben Ryerson all cracked two hits apiece for Bessey (1-1). Goodall had three RBIs, including a two-run double in the fourth inning.

Josh Clark doubled in the fourth for Brunswick’s only hit.
